Hokitika Gymnastics is a club run entirely by volunteers who put in many hours for the club.
This team keeps the wheels of Hokitika Gymnastics turning and take care of Fundraising, Uniforms, Health & Safety and so much more!

Being able to help children find a love and passion for the sport! - What’s one thing you hope every gymnast learns from your classes (on or off the floor)?
I hope that every gymnast learns that trying your best whilst maintaining a love and passion for something is more important than being the best! both within and outside of gymnastics. - What’s your favourite skill or apparatus to teach?
The uneven bars! - If you could only teach ONE skill forever, what would it be?
Walkovers! - What’s a fun fact about you that your gymnasts might not know?
I was born in Scotland.

The importance of believing in yourself and chasing your goals. - What’s your favourite skill or apparatus to teach?
Beam because I loved beam as a kid. - If you could only teach ONE skill forever, what would it be?
Probably be a forward roll. - What’s a fun fact about you that your gymnasts might not know?

Vault & Bar. - If you could only teach ONE skill forever, what would it be?
Probably handstand because they lead to lots of fun skills on all the different apparatus. - What’s a fun fact about you that your gymnasts might not know?
I started gymnastics at 3 years old!

Seeing the gymnasts enjoy doing it! - What’s your favourite gymnastics skill or event?
Favourite event is Vault! Favourite skill is the sole circle on bars. - What’s something you like helping younger gymnasts with?
I like helping them with vault because it’s my favourite and I like seeing them enjoy it too. - What would you say to a gymnast who’s nervous to try a new skill?
I’d help them by breaking it down to build their courage up to try it again. - What’s your favourite thing to do outside of gymnastics?
Running. Especially middle distance, like 800m and 1500m, and cross country. I also like walking my dog.

I like helping with floor, especially forwards and backwards rolls. - What would you say to a gymnast who’s nervous to try a new skill?
